A cognitive-behavioural family therapy approach to the identification & management of suicide risk is presented. Depression & suicidal behaviour are viewed within an interpersonal context in terms of cause & resolution. The treatment strategies described in this chapter are based on the work of cognitive-behavioural theorists & the clinical experience of the authors. The potential uses of this therapy are shown for an adolescent & a suicidal parent.
