During the summer of 1993 UNICEF conducted a survey of 1,505 children in Sarajevo. The survey identified children at risk of war trauma, & precisely described prevalent trauma reactions among these children. This report is a summary of those findings. Among other results, the survey indicated that 22.5% of the children said that they frequently think life is not worth living. More than 50% of the children reported a high level of distress with typical reactions like instrusive flashbacks.
