This paper examines the psychometric properties, dimensional characteristics, & validity (both convergent & divergent) of the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (Junior High School Version) (SIQ-JR) when used in an American Indian boarding school setting. 173 samples were collected for this study. Results indicate that the SIQ-JR is an internally consistent instrument for this sample of adolescents. Predictive validity of the scale is not shown, but this is true for most scales of this type.
