A liaison program which links the mental health & education systems in Somerset County, New Jersey is described. Schools can choose which inservice they need, e.g. the identification & referral of suicidal students. The program has been utilized to the extent of the number & nature of crises in county schools. In addition to schools, the liaison program outreaches to other groups such as clergy & youth shelters & any others seeking training in suicide assessment & intervention.
