Assessment of the Bereaved Child (IN: Helping Bereaved Children. A Handbook for Practitioners, ed. by N B Webb)
Webb N B
This chapter deals with the thorny question about normal and pathological or disabling grief as it applies to children, and offers some guidelines about when a professional assessment would be appropriate. The author concludes that complete assessment of the bereaved child weighs the interactions between the various components of the individual factors in childhood bereavement, the death related factors, and the family social/religious/cultural factors.
