Chapter
Evaluating and Treating Suicidal Behavior in the Borderline Patient (IN: Suicide and Clinical Practice, ed. by D Jacobs)
Jacobs D
In this chapter the author proposes a tripartite model of assessment of suicide in the borderline patient. This model integrates three general areas that need to be analyzed to assess objectively the potential for suicide in the borderline patient. These areas are: 1. borderline psychopathology; 2. coexistence of psychiatric disorders; and 3. suicide perspective. (52 refs.)
