This article is an editorial comment on articles published in the summer 1993 edition of “The Journal of Clinical Ethics”. The first articles discuss the ethical implications of withdrawing medical support from patients and allowing them to die. Other issues dealt with are: patient privacy, pre-abortion counselling, implicatioins on public policy, and surrogacy.
