Abstract
A Stepwise Discriminant Analysis of Suicidal and Nonsuicidal Incarcerated Young Offenders: Implications From Attachment Theory
Raab V
This study explored the risk factors that differentiated incarcerated suicidal & nonsuicidal young offenders & attempted to determine if the etiology of suicidal behaviour among juvenile delinquents could be explained within the concept of the attachment theory. Results revealed that suicidal adolescents could be distinguished by 1 discriminant function. Factor analysis identified 4 latent factors in the function: attachment, psychopathology, psychological pain & reality avoidance.
