This article describes the United States’ Air Force Institute of Technology’s program on mortuary affairs. This program is designed to educate non-commissioned officers on how to deal with the Air Force’s dead. The author claims that these officers possess no special skills, they are not tested for psychological aptitude, nor given any initial special/additional training; yet, they are in one of the most sensitive, psychologically demanding fields known.
