This paper was prepared to: 1) articulate the overall framework guiding the future of suicide prevention in Alberta; 2) specify the direction to be undertaken by individual programs to achieve specific results; 3) establish the criteria that will be used to select programs for funding; 4) highlight 6 strategies that have been determined as most likely to lead to progress towards the goals; & 5) facilitate program development at both the provincial & local levels.
