A review of the records for 5 years from the Coroner’s Offices of Marion County, Indiana & Franklin County, Ohio yielded 12 cases of hanging deaths in children 13 years of age or younger. There were 3 unequivocal suicides (all males), 5 accidental deaths & 4 cases where the manner of death remained undetermined. The scene & autopsy findings are presented & the cases discussed with regard to determination of manner of death. (9 refs.)
