Properties of 3HAMPA Binding in Postmortem Human Brain From Psychotic Subjects and Controls: Increases in Caudate Nucleus Associated With Suicide

3HAMPA binding was measured in the frontal cortex, caudate nucleus & nucleus accumbens of postmortem human brain tissue samples. No differences in AMPA binding were found in psychotic subjects compared to normal controls. There was, however, a pronounced increase in total AMPA binding in the caudate nucleus in subjects that had committed suicide. (39 refs.)
