This Program & Curriculum has been developed as a response to & in recognition of the prevalence & importance alcohol & drug related problems in medical practice across Canada. It recognizes the potentially ideal position that physicians are in vis-a-vis primary prevention, early identification, referral after treatment & case management. The U of T Faculty of Medicine is one of the few in Canada that deal with the problems of alcohol & drug abuse.
