This study examines the effectiveness of an experimental suicide prevention program with regard to suicidal tendencies, hopelessness, ego identity, & coping ability in adolescents. The program was based on the notion that a gradual, controlled confrontation & exploration of inner experiences & life difficulties related to suicidal behaviour accompanied by the emphasis on coping strategies can immunize against self-destructive feelings. Results are examined. (22 references).
