This presentation to the 1993 American Association of Suicidology Conference reports on an investigation of the responses of self-identified suicidal students to a suicide awareness curriculum. Subjects: 253 tenth grade students from northeastern USA suburban schools. Results of the study indicated such classes may enhance participants’ attitudes toward help-seeking. Also, more must be done to counteract the myth that talking about suicide may make some persons more likely to try such behaviors.
