This article reports on a psychological autopsy of 57 suicide victims with diagnosis of alcohol/substance abuse dependence (A/SD) & mood/anxiety disorders (M/AD) using a comprehensive typology of interpersonal stressors. As in previous studies, a substantial majority of A/SD suicides experienced interpersonnal stressors in the 6 weeks prior to death. Findings: A/SD suicide victims are confronted with a broader range of stressors involving conflicts/arguments & attachment disruptions. (33 Refs.)
