Colt’s book on suicide encompasses perspectives from history, anthropology, philosophy, literature, & sociobehavioural & clinical materials. The reviewer says that Colt’s book is accessible to the lay reader because of its lack of specialization. This approach means that there is little new for academicians; even so, this book “will likely expose even the scientist or clinician already engaged in suicide study to new ideas from less familiar disciplines”.
