The case report of a 37-year-old man with prolonged & resistant bipolar affective disorder associated with an acoustic neurinoma is presented. The subject was hospitalized after a serious suicide attempt. The removal of the tumor resulted in complete amelioration of affective symptomatology for the past four years. This case highlights the possibility of undetected neoplasms in patients with psychiatric symptoms. (10 refs.)
