This chapter identifies means of assessing men who may be at risk of suicide & offers suggestions for counselors in responding to these men. Causative factors such as substance abuse, social isolation, & family dysfunction, are discussed. Risk indicators & myths about suicide are reviewed. 23 specific suggestions are offered for counselors dealing with men in suicidal crisis.
