This article presents guidelines for an approach to the treatment of survivors of suicide in formal psychotherapeutic situations, using experience gained from working with more than 20 individuals & 12 families who entered therapy following the death of a family member. Themes & issues occurring in the treatment of these survivors are discussed. A psychoeducational approach is described.
