Analysis of Suicides in Adolescents and Young Adults: Implications for Prevention (IN: Primary Health Care in the Making, ed. by U Lanser et al)

This article reports on an epidemiological study to determine suicide rates among adolescents & young adults in 2 Minnesota counties. This archival study of 83 cases (1980-81) ranging in age from 12 to 24 years, used univariate analyses, cluster analysis, & multivariate analysis. The suicide rate for males aged 19 to 24 years increased from 11.0 to 25.2/100,00 population. Other epidemiological data are presented. Implications for suicide prevention are discussed. (15 Refs.)
