This protocol was established in order to provide schools with a comprehensive plan to respond compassionately & effectively to a school suicide in the short term; & to establish suitable postvention strategies to address bereavement issues which may emerge in the long term. The protocol provides the opportunity for school & community resources to work together to facilitate healthy grieving, & thus prevent further suicides.
