Link-Up is a peer-helping & peer-friend adolescent program. It started in 1985 with 2 schools in Minneapolis. Within 3 years it spread to 5 other cities. Originally called a peer counselling program, it targets adolescents who are considered “at risk” & helps them to establish friends. Youth are taught skills that help build self-esteem, life-coping skills, & provide peer support networking. The kit contains promotional brochures & a paper outlining the program background & development.
