Choose Life: Suicide Prevention in the Elderly

This pamphlet describes suicide among the elderly, as well as outlining the San Francisco Suicide Prevention Geriatric Program. The program includes a friendship line for the elderly, a geriatric outreach program & a geriatric support group. Over 450 older adults receive regular telephone calls &/or visits from Outreach volunteers & the friendship line receives about 3000 calls a year. The program also includes community outreach by educating caregivers & the media. (VM)
