The authors discussed their research into the occurrence & types of destructive behaviour observed in a sample of 100 nursing home patients. Findings indicated that indirect self-destructive behaviour was associated with extensive personal loss, orientation toward risk taking, isolation, feelings of hopelessness & dissatisfaction, extent of illness & absence of religious commitment.
