Other studies indicate that between 19 & 34% of college students experienced childhood sexual abuse. The present author’s research indicated that even though the size of the abused population in the group of students he studied was less than half that of the nonabused students, the sexually abused students were responsible for 64% of the reported suicide attempts. Recommendations are offered to help campuses develop more effective responses to sexual abuse victims. (26 refs.)
