This is a recording of White’s lecture presentation at a workshop. Depression is trying to tell us that there is no instant happiness in the world & that we need to stop and reflect on our lives. He gives a detailed case study of a student who attempted suicide by overdose, and asks the audience about past events in her life that might have triggered the attempt. He also talks about the high numbers of American adolescents who contemplate suicide, and the audience discusses why this might be.
