The authors describe & critique models of several curriculum-based youth suicide prevention programs. These descriptions are based on discussions with several program implementors throughout the USA, a review of materials provided by them & observations of several programs in the New York & New Jersey areas. The authors believe the most important steps to take in prevention are to evaluate the impact of on-going programs & to develop innovative strategies which include evaluation components.
