Examined the phenomena of suicide among industrial workers & investigated some common factors which might be helpful in identifying potential suicide victims. Supervisory personnel are already trained to recognize problems that may be caused by substance abuse. Because the warning signs of alcoholism & suicide are closely related, supervisors could, with minimal training, also learn to recognize employees who may be suicidal & in turn, become a safety valve for those individuals at risk.
