This article describes the establishment of a mental health clinic on the Papago Indian Reservation. The authors first briefly outline historical & cultural characteristics of the Papago Indians, & emphasize the importance of these elements in creating an accepted & successful clinic (for example, consulting Papago medicine men about cases involving traditional beliefs). Program activities are outlined, as well as the demography & symptomatology of individual cases. (VM)
