This article describes the life & suicide of Dr. Clarence Edmonds Hemingway, the father of Ernest Hemingway. The doctor committed suicide while suffering from diabetes & angina, as well as suffering financial problems. The author of this article asserts that Dr. Hemingway’s suicide, especially considering what a strict moralist he was, paved the way for Ernest Hemingway’s suicide. Ernest Hemingway committed suicide after numerous failed marriages & failing health. (VM)
