This article reviews the studies on serotonin & alcoholics, including those on violent offenders, arsonists, cerbrospinal fluid, postmortem studies & reactive hypoglycemic tendencies. The authors conclude a deficiency of serotonin may be linked to impulsive & suicidal behavior, & alcoholism. This may also explain a subgroup which displays early alcohol abuse, develops antisocial personality disorders, & manifests impulsive violent behavior. (VM)
