Reviewed fatal injuries in Fulton County, Georgia during 1981-82. Results of blood alcohol content (BAC) testing & toxic screens were reviewed for all victims of homicide, suicide, & unintentional fatal injuries who died within 6 hours of being injured (N = 158 suicide victims). Of the 153 suicides who were tested for BAC, 37% had been drinking, with 20% having BACs greater than or equal to 0.1 mg/dL. Toxic screens for 131 of the 158 suicide victims were positive. (14 refs.)
