This article provides statistics on adolescents in Canada. The author also describes the case histories of 2 teenagers who attempted suicide. One of the girls required medication for depression due to a chemical imbalance, the other counselling to deal with a troublesome family life & low self esteem. The article ends by providing the warning signs of suicide, & tips on how to talk to & help a suicidal friend. (VM)
