This article discusses doctor-assisted suicide, in particular the case of Janet Adkins, who committed suicide using Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s “suicide machine”. THe author discusses the concept of death with dignity, or hastening death before intense pain or dementia sets in. The author concludes that physicians should not step outside their roles of promoting health to aid death. (VM)
