This letter to the editor describes a study on the trends in male & female suicide rates in Canada. The male rate has increased, while the female rate has decreased. The author of this letter examined if this occurence was true in other countries for suicide & homicide from 1970-1984. He found that only 6 of 23 countries conformed to the Canadian pattern, & all of the 6 were European countries. (VM)
