Abstract
Teenage Suicide: Spreading a Network of Caring Over Field of Athletic Competition (Part 2 of 3)
Anthony M
The author of this article argues that the policies & practices of teenage athletic competition are destructive to the emotional, psychological & spiritual well-being of participants. He proposes that a network of intervention, or a “network of caring” be established. He asserts coaches, teachers & athletes must ask themselves questions about, for example, if they value winning so much that they are willing to embarrass others or become unduly harsh to achieve their goals.
