Reviews some of the feelings (grief, anger, guilt) & circumstances that follow a patient’s suicide, & gives suggestions about how to handle them. Areas dealt with include intervening with the patient’s family, dealing with colleagues & staff, & legal responsibilities. Actions prescribed include meeting immediately with family, talking with staff & colleagues to resolve feelings & prevent legal action, & supporting colleagues who have lost a patient. 15 refs. (RM)
