This article outlines standards of diagnosis for suicidal students, & the major aspects of therapy for these students. Also included are sections on communicating hope, how to respond to a student’s hopelessness, & the qualities of self analysis required by a therapist of suicidal patients. The author concludes that although crisis intervention may be lifesaving, therapy is important to resolve suicide impetus. (VM)
