A suicide opinion questionnaire (SOQ) was administered to 76 Mexican Americans & 76 Anglos, equated on several demographic dimensions. An item analysis yielded statistically significant differences on 35 of the 100 SOQ items. These items centered on the following themes: religion, psychopathology, aggression-impulsivity, acceptability of suicide, the “cry for help” dimension, & emotional impact. The implications of these findings are discussed briefly. (19 refs.)
