Relationship Between Alcohol Dependency and Suicide Ideation Among High School Students

66 female & 60 male high school students completed the MacAndrew Alcohol Scale (MAS) & portions of a suicide ideation scale. Boys scored significantly higher on the MAS than did girls. Results suggest that research must explore better the associations of thoughts of suicide & drug/alcohol dependency. (7 refs.)
