A biography of Japanese politician Konoe Fumimaro is presented. Konoe was born into an aristocratic family, & inherited a seat in the House of Peers. He advanced to become the President of the House of Peers, President of the Upper House, & finally, Prime Minister. He was against Japan joining WWII, & after hostilities began, he resigned. After the war, the American command charged him with war crimes, which Konoe felt was humilitating. He committed suicide 2 days before his arrest date. (VM)
