These proceedings provide insight into the needs of youth who are in the gay community. It examines the Minnesota Youth Emergency Service’s findings that one third of all suicides among young males in the state were gay related. The proceedings points to a lack of gay role models, such as parents, to guide youth in development. The proceedings also discusses the problem of gay youth living in a society which tell them that their lifestyle is a perversion. The lack support from peers, the church, & the educational community are also discussed. The proceedings conclude by pointing to common elements in adolescent suicides. (AK)
