Examined 3 factors proposed by Teicher & Jacobs to be involved in the etiology of suicidal ideation (SI) in adolescents. 92 male & 99 female college students completed the questionnaires. Nearly 61% of Ss reported some degree of SI & 21% reported moderate or high levels of SI. Ideators reported poorer relationships with parents than did non-ideators. Moderate to high ideators reported poorer relationships with peers & greater convictions of helplessness & hopelessness. (24 refs.)
