The purposes of the L.A. Suicide Prevention Center in training police officers are: to provide the community with police officers who will be of greater help to them in times of these types of crises & to provide the officer with techniques which will better prepare him for carrying out his job more effectively without force or risking his own safety, when possible. Traits of officers as a factor in training & training content are discussed. The personality of officers is regarded as important.
