Discusses the results of a general social survey (C. Russell & I. Megaard, 1988) in which 7 out of 8 positive correlations emerged between suicide rates and the approval of suicide for each age group from 25-34 and 75-84 yrs for men and women. Social groups who approve more of suicide also have higher suicide rates.
