This study explored the association between Type A behavior & depression. A questionnaire was given to 60 subjects containing the Beck Depression Inventory, Bortner’s rating scale for Type A behavior & questions on the subjects’ suicidal histories. Type A scores were not related to depression scores, the item in the depression inventory concerned with current suicidal ideation or a history of suicidal preoccupation. Thus Type A behavior appeared to be unrelated to depression or suicidal ideation.
