This article discusses an anonymous report written by a doctor who lethally injected a patient he had not previously treated, after she said to him, “Let’s get this over with”. This provoked a great deal of controversy. The author of this article debates whether the law on euthanasia & aiding suicide should be liberalized in Britain. She points out that many doctors unofficially help ailing patients die, & outlines Holland’s euthanasia legislation. (VM)
