Factors Affecting Therapeutic Decision-making Following a Suicide Attempt (IN: Current Research on Suicide and Parasuicide, ed. by S D Platt and N Kreitman)
Zumbrunnen R~~Tricot L
This study examined the factors which influence decision-making by therapists concerning suicide attempters. The authors found that the older the patient, the more the decision was restrictive & institutional. They also found that a majority of the patients who were not receiving treatment at the time of the attempt left the hospital with no follow-up planned. Major depression & psychotic disorders were correlated with psychiatric hospitalization. (VM)
