This article provides a biography of the manager of the Beatles, Brian Epstein (1934-1967). He abused drugs & was often depressed. He was a homosexual, but he seems to have been uncomfortable with his sexual orientation; he dated women, & even proposed to a girlfriend. Homosexuality was illegal in England until 1967. His father died in 1967, & his contract with the Beatles was tenuous. In August, 1967, he overdosed on a prescription drug. It was ruled an accidental death. (VM)
